On July 2, PetroChina Chuanqing Drilling & Exploration Changqing Downhole Company successfully implemented carbon dioxide dry sand fracturing in Shenmu Gas Field Shen60 well, reserving 590 cubic meters of liquid carbon dioxide and adding 9.6 cubic meters of ceramic granules, with an average sand ratio of 7.9%, which is the largest-scale carbon dioxide dry sand fracturing operation in China at present.

Carbon dioxide dry sand fracturing technology adopts pure liquid carbon dioxide instead of conventional fracturing fluid for fracturing, which avoids the damage to oil and gas formations caused by the intrusion of water phase in conventional fracturing fluid. The residue-free feature keeps the fracture surface and inflow bed clean and improves the production increase effect.

This time, the fracturing was carried out by 6 sets of SS-2000 main pressurized trucks at the same time, 2 sets of carbon dioxide pressurized pumping trucks for fluid supply, and liquid nitrogen pumping trucks were used to give the carbon dioxide tanker secondary pressurization. This is the first time in China that two closed sand mixing devices are used for joint operation, which not only increases the amount of sand added and expands the scale of single-layer construction, but also provides technical reserve for carrying out multi-layer and large-scale carbon dioxide dry sand fracturing in the future.

Hot 3:Jidong Oilfield CO2 synergistic throughput increases production and efficiency

As of July 10th, Jidong Oilfield Company has completed 161 wells of 41 well groups of CO2 synergistic throughput measures in Nambourg land shallow oil reservoirs, with a total increase of more than 52,000 tons of crude oil production.

The main oil-bearing layers of Nanbao land shallow oil reservoir are Minghuazhen Group and Tiantao Group of the Upper Tertiary System, which are complex fracture block oil reservoirs with side and bottom water layers, and the development of the reservoir is mainly based on natural energy. Since the reservoir has entered the stage of extra high water content development, water control and oil stabilization has become a bottleneck problem that needs to be broken through.

Since the end of 2010, Jidong Oilfield has implemented CO2 throughput oil recovery test in shallow layer of Nanbu land. By "swallowing" liquid carbon dioxide into some ultra-high water content wells that basically do not produce oil, then shutting down the wells for a long time to "hold the gas", and then opening the wells to induce "spitting" oil, it has achieved obvious effects of decreasing water and increasing oil. The effect is obvious. Since then, carbon dioxide throughput has become one of the main measures for dredging residual oil in shallow reservoirs in Jidong Oilfield, and the implementation of this measure in the field has been continuously increased.

With the wide application of carbon dioxide throughput measures, more and more wells have been throughput in multiple rounds, the cycle production decreases, the water content rises faster, the cost of tons of oil increases, and the effect of the measures and benefits deteriorate. Technical personnel brainstorming, innovative ideas, based on in-depth analysis and research, put forward new initiatives of carbon dioxide synergistic throughput, and strive to improve the level of reservoir development and economic benefits.

The so-called carbon dioxide synergistic throughput is in accordance with the principle of "overall research, overall implementation", combining multiple oil wells with the same production layer, high degree of connectivity of oil reservoirs, and planar neighboring oil wells into one development unit, expanding the radius of injection and the range of carbon dioxide in the formation through centralized gas injection in an orderly manner, and effectively mobilizing the residual oil between the wells to improve the overall development effect of the oil reservoir. This can effectively utilize the residual oil between wells and improve the overall development effect of the reservoir.

CO2 synergistic throughput in Dagang Oilfield entered the well field test at the end of 2013. Up to now, the field has implemented CO2 synergistic throughput in a total of 41 well groups in five units: Gaoshao South, Gaoshao North, Liunan, Miaoshao and Tanghai. Compared with single-well throughput measures, the average single-well oil increase of CO2 co-generation in the same block and the same type of wells has doubled, and the validity period has been extended by nearly 50%, which has become a favorable tool to improve the recovery rate of shallow and complex fracture block side-bottom water reservoirs during the period of extra-high water content.
